We built Riff because finding live music shouldn't be this hard.

It started with a simple frustration. Hiring a musician for your event, your backyard party, your wedding, your kid's recital, should not require knowing a guy who knows a guy. It should not mean digging through Facebook groups, chasing unanswered DMs, or settling for whoever responds first.

Every neighborhood has incredible musicians. Every weekend has events that deserve them. The two rarely find each other.

We wanted to fix that.

Riff was born in Austin, Texas. That felt right. Austin is the live music capital of the world, a city where talent spills out of every venue, coffee shop, and street corner. If any city had the musicians, it was this one. What it was missing was a better way to connect them with the people who needed them.

So we started building.

Riff is a marketplace where bookers find local artists and artists find steady work. No commissions taken from the musician. No awkward payment conversations. No spreadsheets, IOUs, or radio silence after a handshake deal.

Bookers search by genre, location, and availability. They find someone they love, send a message, work out the details, and book, all in one place. Artists build a profile that does the selling for them. They set their rate, upload their media, share their reviews, and show up to perform.

That is the whole idea. Simple by design.

Riff is also built for music teachers. If you give lessons, whether it is piano on weekday afternoons or guitar on Saturday mornings, Riff gives students a way to subscribe to ongoing sessions and gives you a reliable, recurring schedule. Steady students. Predictable income. No more chasing payments or coordinating over text.

We believe musicians deserve a platform that works as hard as they do. The music industry has a long history of taking from artists. Riff is built on the opposite principle. You set your rate. You keep your booking fee. We make our margin at checkout so your earnings stay yours.
